2019 Chinese Folk Culture Parent-child Game Day

Organizer：Ontario Society for Chinese Education

Location：Milliken Park, Area C,

                 5555 Steeles Avenue East, Scarborough, ON M9L 1S7

Time：Saturday, August 24, 2019,

           12:00 pm~1:00pm: Registration 

           1:30 pm~3:30 pm: Folklore Game Fun Competition

           4:00 pm: Awards Ceremony

Fun competition items: skipping rope, kicking shuttlecock, Kangaroo

                                     jump, rolling hoop, and other folk games

Awards: the top three who completion of ten competition items will

               receive money prize and trophy

New group game：Tug-of-war 10 persons per team, Team member must be age 12 or up, registration fee for Tug-of-war: $5 each team, pre-register required

Free to participate, welcome the whole family and children over 4 years old to participate

If you come to Canada not for a long time, in the face of completely different living environment, whether it is language, culture, education, medical treatment, there are great differences with your hometown. How to solve these problems?
We will invite experts to discuss the problems faced by new immigrants at different levels and believe that the four lectures will be of help to you.

The first lecture on January 6 was conducted by senior media people currently being the radio program host Mr. Jeffrey Li, who services in an institution dedicated to assist new immigrants. Based on the past experience and from the basic necessities of life that he must face each day, he had provided a very practical way to help new immigrants adapt to Canada’s new life as soon as possible.

The second lecture on February 3 will still be delivered by Mr. Jeffrey Li. In his previous speech, Mr. Lee already mentioned the importance of parent-child relationship. He will tell the audiences more detail on how to improve this parent-child relationship. This is a problem that currently many new immigrant families facing. We believe that this seminar will certainly help parents to solve the doubts.
